What is Sip and Throw?Sip and Throw is a pottery studio experience in Denver that blends creativity with fun. Guests can enjoy guided pottery sessions while sipping a drink in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Where are you located?We are located in the Curtis Park / RiNi neighborhood of Denver. We will be expanding beyond Denver soon!

Do I need experience to attend a class?No experience needed. Our classes are beginner friendly and guided step by step by our instructors.

How do I book a class?Classes are booked online at www.sipandthrow.com. Just select your class, date, and time to reserve your spot.

Can I book a private event?Yes. We host private events for birthdays, work outings, anniversaries, and more. Submit a private event inquiry on our website and we will follow up with availability and pricing.

Can I bring a group?Definitely. We welcome groups of all sizes. For larger groups (more than 10), we rotate guests through the wheel and offer bisque painting while others wait.

Do you accept walk-ins?We accept walk-ins for bisque painting when space allows. For wheel classes and private events, advance booking is required.

What is included in a Sip and Throw class?Each class includes a two-hour guided pottery session, one complimentary drink, all tools and materials, and two pieces per person to take home after firing.

What is the Intro to Pottery course?This is a six week course that covers foundational pottery wheel skills. Completion includes two free potters pass hours and future access to purchase open studio time.

What is a potters pass?The potters pass allows studio access without a membership. It is for experienced guests who want to work independently in our space.

Do you offer kids classes?We are working on youth programming and seasonal kids camps. Updates will be posted on our site and social media.

What is your cancellation policy?Cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance can be refunded or rescheduled. Cancellations 24 to 48 hours before class may be rescheduled once, but are non-refundable. Cancellations within 24 hours and no-shows are not eligible for refund or rescheduling.

What if there is a family emergency?We do our best to be understanding, but our standard policy still applies. In some cases, we may offer a one-time courtesy reschedule or gift certificate.

What if my piece breaks or cracks?Clay is fragile and kiln firing always carries a small risk. If something happens during firing, we will do our best to make it right.

What drinks do you offer?We serve a rotating menu of wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages. Each class includes one complimentary drink. Additional drinks are available for purchase.

Can I bring my own drinks or food?Outside drinks are not allowed. Light snacks are welcome, especially for private events. Let us know ahead of time if you are bringing food.

Is alcohol served during all classes?Alcohol is served at all of our Sip and Throw classes. We also offer non-alcoholic classes for guests under 21.

What should I wear?Pottery can be messy, so wear something comfortable that you do not mind getting a little clay on. We also have aprons available.

When do I pick up my finished piece?Pieces take about three weeks to dry, fire, and be ready. We will text you when your items are ready for pickup.

Can I leave a tip for the instructor?Yes. You can leave a tip when booking online or in person after class. Tips are always appreciated!
