Most guests create beginner friendly pieces such as cups, bowls, small planters, vases, or similar forms. Each piece is made with approximately one pound of clay, though the exact amount may vary slightly depending on the project.
We keep pieces within this general size so they can dry and fire properly, are less likely to crack or collapse, and can fit safely alongside everyone else’s work in our kilns. Larger pieces require more drying time, additional kiln space, and more advanced techniques, so they may not be suitable for a standard Sip and Throw Experience.
Our instructors will help you choose a project that fits your experience level and gives you the best chance of creating something you will be excited to keep.
